Take It or Leave it: Post 10

Hey y’all, happy Saturday!  I hope you all are having a lovely weekend.  This take It or Leave It post is about the two mottoes, or rules if you will, that I try to live by.

Take It: Rules to Follow

Rule 1: Leave a space cleaner than how you found it.

I started babysitting around the age of 10 & Mama J always taught me to leave their house cleaner than how I found it.  Let me tell you…this boosted my babysitting business tenfold, even to this day.  Now don’t get me wrong, I know most of you don’t babysit on a regular basis, if ever.  But, I apply this rule to when I’m a guest at someone’s home.  My friends are always happy to have me back as a guest anytime!

Rule 2: Leave people better than how you found them.

better people

This is something I read today, & I fell in love with it.  I try to live my life this way on the regular, & have always done this.  This quote by Marvin J. Ashton perfectly articulates the way I feel about the world.  Whether you are going through something, or dislike someone, or whatever there is never a good enough reason to be ugly.  What you put out in the world eventually comes back to you exponentially.  So be kind as often as you dare.

Both of these rules are essentially about respect.  Respect yourself, respect others, & respect the things around you.

Leave It: hot humid weather

The meteorologist has been saying for days that Houston can expect to see rain & cooler weather soon.  Well, where is it?  I can’t take anymore of this disgusting heat.  The stores are putting out fall decor, my farmers market (Theiss) will be getting fall flowers next week, & I want to wear my chunky scarves & sweaters!

This is a sick joke the weatherman likes to play on us!  In Texas, the weather is fickle on a good day, so this means nothing.  weather

Dear Mother Nature,

Please send cooler weather to Texas; we are melting.

Your Sweatiest Fan (get the oxymoron?)

Please enjoy then rest of your weekend!

Kiss Hug,
