My Second #OOTD

Hi friends!  So, I initially planned to post my #OOTD everyday, or at least every week, but that clearly didn’t happen.  Whomp, whomp.  When I did my first #OOTD post, I worked in a corporate environment; now I work from home.  I’m one of those people, you know the kind, that dresses in jeans & makeup M-F, to differentiate from the weekends.  Today, I’m kinda feeling myself, so here we are.  Ha! Top: Lou & Grey Fingerstripe Poncho Sweater – it’s currently 40% off at Loft!  Code: HBDUSA

Jeans: Madwell Stovepipe Jeans – these are my very favorite jeans, & they’re sold-out.  These are the same style minus the frayed hem.

Sandals: Tory Burch Miller Flip-flop – wait for a sale

Watch: Olivia Burton Bracelet Watch, 38mm

Phone Case: Digital Nomad Corner iPhone Case

Am I cute or what?  I kid.  I’ll see y’aka back here on Friday, for my Friday Five!

Have a good week!

What’s Up Wednesday: March 2020

Hi friends!  It has been ages since I have done one of these. D4181699-7DFE-49CC-9185-B7985BF653C3

Let’s get right to it, shall we?

What I’m eating this week?

So, this past weekend I took inventory of what was in my freezer, fridge, & pantry.  I’m crossing things off as I eat them, and then adding them to the leftovers list to ensure I eat those too.  Not a huge leftovers fan… IMG_1524

I’ve been using what I have on hand to make recipes from The Defined Dish cookbook & Half Baked Harvest cookbook.  Also, Ina Garten is posting simple pantry staple recipes on IG while we are staying home in due to this pandemic.

This week I plan to try TDD Curried Beef Turkey Acorn Squash, and HBH chocolate banana coconut muffins.

What I’m reminiscing about?

Remember like 2 weeks ago when we could leave our house?  Yeah, me neither.

What I’m loving?

So, the last couple of weeks I was “stress buying,” but I’ve since cut myself off.  Oddly enough, I bought art, which is super useful in a pandemic (I’m rolling my eyes so hard). IMG_1526

Both of these artists I found on Instagram.  Top two are from @melremmers, and the bottom two are from @verrier_handcrafted_.  I have another small piece coming from @laureldawn.cornerstudio.  I just need to get these babies framed!

What I’ve been up to?

Luckily for me, I work from home, even before the world fell apart, so it is pretty much business as usual.  If you’re having any network or VPN issues now that you are working from home, reach out to me! 🙂

What I’m dreading?

Aren’t we all dreading the same thing?  The unknowns of COVID-19.  Based on multiple interviews I’ve seen, medical experts are predicting that we are still in the very early stages of this in the US.  We are expected to peak late April.

What I’m working on?

Outside of actual work, I’m working on a hard jigsaw puzzle.  Why I thought it would be a good idea to order impressionist art puzzles is beyond me.

What I’m excited about?

I’m wearing my Nantucket J. Crew sweatshirt today, & I’m excited to get to plan a trip again.  May still be a while yet, but here’s hoping…

You can read about my Nantucket trip here.

What I’m watching & reading?

I’m watching so much Bravo right now.  I’m really into the new show, Family Karma.  I’ll start Tiger King tonight, although I usually don’t love shows that get this much hype.  Still loving Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist too.  I’m also really wanting to rewatch The Mindy Project.  Anyone else rewatching old favorites?

I’m having such a hard time getting motivated to read.  The first two days of social distancing, I read one book.  Since March 15, I’ve only gotten half way through another book.  It’s not that I don’t like it, but I’m just not motivated.  Am I the only one?

What I’m listening to?

Have you listened to my Quarantunes playlist?  You should, it’s pretty good if I do say so myself.

What I’m wearing?

I bought these two shirts from The Shop Forward, all the proceeds go to charity.  Love that!

Also loving this Lou & Grey sweater. C0280101-BF58-45C0-AE65-567FD0E10BDC

What I’m doing this weekend?

HAHAHAHAHAHA, drinking wine & doing jigsaw puzzles.  Obviously.

What I’m looking forward to next month?

I’m going to do a “no buy April,” which is where I can only spend money on food & utilities, but no extras.  Since I think we’ll still be in Quarantine, this should be easy.  Should being the operative word.

What else is new?

Have you seen the new nail polish colors from Olive & June?  They are so good!  Also, Sarah’s (the founder of O&J) IG Live with Katie from @WhatKateFinds is so fun!  Katie does an interview everyday at 3:00pm CST – it is really getting me through these long days.

Hope you enjoyed.  I’ll be back here on Friday for my Friday Five!
